A(x) can be factored. When it is, the following is what is obtained.

A(x) = (x- 3)(x - 3)

Since the area of a square is

Area = s^2

where s is the length of the side, you can find the square root by using the rules of roots.

s^2 = (x - 3)(x - 3)

√s²= √(x - 3)²

√s² = s

√(x - 3)² = x - 3

Therefore the answer should be s = x-3

The only thing I think you can do is ask whoever is presenting the course how any of those answers are obtained.
