= 450

Safety stock = Safety stock × Daily demand

= 1.50 × 150

= 225

Number of kanbans needed = (Demand during lead time + safety stock) ÷ Kanban size

= (450 + 225) ÷ 50

= 675 ÷ 50

= 13.5

So, for calculating the number of Kanbans needed we simply applied the above formula.
