The total number of marbles is 12. Because:
5 red marbles + 3 yellow marbles + 4 blue marbles = 12 total marbles.
And there are 5 RED marbles in the special bag . . .
So the probability of a red marble would be 5/12. The reason why is because there are 5 TOTAL RED marbles and there are 12 TOTAL marbles.
