Three times one number added to another number is 18. Twice the first number minus the other number is 12. Find the numbers.

Number 1=6

Number 2=0

Explanation:

The answer is 6,0 because...

  • Step one figure out the biggest possible number to go into the first number since for part 1 we are trying to get to 18 lets try 6 because 3 times six equals 18. so three times a number so we chose 6 added by another number which we chose 0 is 18.
  • Step two now that we nailed Part A now we need to see if 6,0 is good for part 2. twice the first number so 6+6=12 minus the other number which is 0 so 12-0=12.
  • Step 3 now that we got them correct we need to write down those two numbers 6,0
