I think the answer is 679 because you every numbers make sense except for 679.

Explanation:

There is either a 1, 4 or 7 in the number.

From the second guess, 189, 1 cannot be in the number , either 8 or 9 are in right place. Also 4 or 7 are in the number.

9 6 4: 9 may be in the number, also 4 or 6.

No 2,3 or 5.

2 8 6 this tells us there is no 8 , and 9 is the last digit.

As there is no 2 there must be a 6 in the number

So the number contains a 9 and a 6.

The third number is either a 4 or a 7, but from the 964 result it cannot be a 4 because 6 is included.

So it either 679 or 769.

But 964 had 6 in the wrong place so the number is 679.
