Kirby ran three-fourths of a half mile and dropped out of the 800 meter race. Her

pace was 12 miles an hour until the point she dropped out of the race. About how
many minutes did she run approximately?

Formula to calculate time = Distance/Time

substituting value of speed of Kirby and distance covered by Kirby

Time =
(3/8) / 12 = 3/(8*12) = 1/32 \ hour

Since one hour has 60 minutes 1/32 hour = (1/32) * 60 minutes = 1.88 minutes
