Additional comment

The picture here does not ask for the surface area of the prism. The area would be the sum of the areas of each of the surfaces.

The three surfaces we can see (red, green, blue) have areas of 9×8 = 72, 6×8 = 48, and 6×9 = 54 square units, respectively. These areas total 174 square units, but represent only half of the total area.

The other half of the area is the same (each hidden face has the same area as its visible opposite). So, the total surface area of this prism is 2×174 = 348 square units. (1 unit = small cube edge length).
