April wrote a narrative about planting a garden. Read her introductory paragraph.

Katya set out her gardening tools and gazed happily at the neglected area of the yard her dad had given her to use. This was going to be her patch of land, no one else’s. She was going to plant wildflowers for the bees. And tomatoes and zucchini and a strawberry vine. Whatever she wanted, this was her place to make it happen.

Which of the following conclusions BEST reflects on and links to this introduction?

A.
The rain pelted the fragile berries, knocking them to the mud below.
B.
After a long day, Katya served homegrown strawberries to her brothers and sisters.
C.
The struggle was over, and Katya was ready to retreat to her small patch of land. And there she found a ripe strawberry waiting—just for her.
D.
The party spilled over the back deck and into the yard. Katya watched, satisfied, as her friends enjoyed the food, the music, and one another’s company.

Answer: C

Explanation: I would say C because the introduction specifically states, "This was going to be her patch of land, no one else’s." and that's what C kind of ties back into, when it says, "And there she found a ripe strawberry waiting—just for her." Also, it makes the most sense and the other answers aren't as related to the introduction.

hope this helps :)
