6.1. Notice how for both of these polygons the same side is given. The smaller polygon's side is 5in, the larger one is 8in. To find the scale factor simply divide the larger side by the smaller one so 8in/5in.

8/5=1.6, this means the scaling factor from small to big is 1.6.

6.2 Now use this 1.6 to scale the 12in side accordingly, for this simply do 12 x 1.6 which is 19.2. The X in is 19.2

6.3 Now for the 7in side you simply have to divide it by 1.6 since you are going from large to small. So 7/1.6=4.37
