Help needed! which relative pronoun is it? who or whom?

1) My mother supports the candidate (who, whom) made the powerful speech.
2) Beth spent last summer with her grandparents, (who, whom) have a home in Arizona.
3 We all need a friend (who, whom) we can trust.

1. The answer is "whom" because she is being described as doing something.
2. The answer is "who" because her grandparents own the home. (they aren't actively doing something. therefore it'd be "who".)
3. The answer is "who" because it isn't relating to a certain person, and it isn't an active noun.

Answer: 1: whom 2: who 3: who

Explanation: This is what I think. Apoligies if I got any wrong, I don't use the word 'whom' very much.
