247.42 m^2 to the nearest hundredth

Explanation:

The surfaces area of the side of the cylinder = 2πrh

= 2π(1)(6)

= 12π m^2.

Now we need the surface area of the cube minus the 2 circles at each end of the cylinder

= 6^3 - 2πr^2

= 216 - 2π

So the required surface area

= 12π + 216 - 2π

= 217 + 10π

= 247.4159 m^2
