Active noise cancelling headphones measure the various sound

waves of the environment around them and produce an inverted wave
of what it "hears". This process partially cancels the noise outside of
the headphones. What is this process called?

Answer: A) Destructive Interference

Explanation: Wave Interference can be simply defined as a phenomenon that result into creating a higher amplitude, lower amplitude or thesame amplitude of wave as two or more waves superpose.

Destructive Interference is when two waves with opposite or different amplitude but equal frequency cancel the effect of each other out as they superpose.

The active noise cancelling headphones produces an inverted wave to cancel out the noises it picks from it's surrounding, this process is called Destructive Interference.
