At a restaurant the cost for a breakfast taco and a small glass of milk is $2.05. The cost for 3 tacos and 4 small glasses of milk is $6.90. Write a pair of equations that can be used to determine t, the cost of a taco, and m, the cost of a small glass of milk. Use your equations to find the cost of each item.

Answer:

Explanation:

t + m = 2.05 ------(i)

3t + 4m =6.90 ------ (ii)

Multiply equation(i) by (-3)

(i)*(-3) -3t - 3m = -6.15

(ii) 3t + 4m = 6.90 {Now, add. So, t will be eliminated}

m =$ 0.75

Substitute the value of m in equation(i)

t + 0.75 = 2.05

t = 2.05 - 0.75

t = $ 1.30
