here is two examples:

1) x²-9=0 means : x²-3² = (x-3)(x+3) = 0 .... use identity : a²-b² = (a-b(a+b)

use the Zero Product Property; x-3=0 or x+3=0 so : x=3 or x= +3

2) x²+4x = 0....using factoring : x(x+4)=0 means : x=0 or x+4=0

x=0 or x= - 4
