The nth term of a sequence is n^2 + 20

a) work out the first three terms of the sequence
b) how many terms in the sequence are less than 50?

any help would be appreciated!

Answer:

21,24,29

Explanation:

for the first three terms, put n = 1,2,3

for the second part,

n^2 + 20 = 50

from this we knwo n is 5.5

so, the sixth term is larger than 50,since there can't be a 5.5th term

that means there are 5 terms smaller than 50
