the median is the midpoint of the data, the first thing is to take the data out and organize it. According to the image we have the following data:

1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7

there are 13 data, and half of them are 5, so the average is 5.

To calculate the average, which is the average of the data, we add and divide by the number of data, like this:

(1+ 2 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 7 + 7)/13 = 4.69 = 4.7

the average is equal to 4.7

Finally, a figure of 20 would affect the average much more, since it is an atypical value, creating a much higher median value.
