Answer: 4ft

Explanation:

Formula: A=bh

Solve for b;

b=(A)/(h)

b=(26(1)/(2)ft^2 )/(6(5)/(8) ft)

To make it easier to divide, convert from mixed number to improper fraction. In case you do not know how to do this, you multiply the coefficient by the denominator and add the numerator. When you get the number, put it in a fraction with the same denominator.

Example;

26(1)/(2) multiply 26*2 and add (+) 1. Then, put the result over the original denominator (2).

26(1)/(2)=(53)/(6)

6(5)/(8)=(53)/(8)

This leaves us with the following fraction.

b=((53)/(2) ft^2)/((53)/(8)ft )

Now to eliminate the fraction from the denominator, invert it and multiply by the numerator.

b=((53)/(2)ft^2) ((8)/(53)ft^-^1)

b=(8)/(2)ft

b=4ft
