Do you need to cite when you paraphrase a text?

Depends, when you paraphase it's usually in your own words. If your paraphase is very similar to the orginal quote I would reccomend to cite it in an endnote. You want your endotes at the bottom of the page.

No it’s isn’t needed when paraphrasing however it should be used when quoting anything
