The exponent is the number of times 1.8 is multiplied by itself, so you could do it on paper:

1.8 x 1.8 = 3.24

3.34 x 1.8 = 5.832

5.832 x 1.8 = 10.4976

10.4976 x 1.8 = 18.8956

18.8956 x 1.8 = 34.0122

34.0122 x 1.8 = 61.222

61.222 x 1.8 = 110.1996

110.1996 x 1.8 = 198.359 (rounded off to 3 decimal places)

the only other way is to multiply 1.8 9 times.

eg. 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8
