integers are whole numbers, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 56, 73...ect

fractions and decimans are NOT integers

NOT integers: 0.75, 1.5, 5/8, 4/9

there can be negative integers too

-1, -2, -3, -4, -34

these are some negative NOT integers:

-0.5, -1.5, -3/2, -6/7, -100/3
