1. How much di Mo get?

Known :

Ratio = Mo : Nigel = 3 : 4

Nigel's money = £6

Asked :

Mo's money = ...?

Answer :

(3)/(4) = (mo)/(nigel) \\ (3)/(4) = (mo)/(6) \\ mo = (3 * 6)/(4) \\ mo = (9)/(2) = 4(1)/(2) \\ mo = 4.5

So, Mo gets £4.5

2. How much did they originally share?

Known :

Ratio = Ollie : Peter = 5 : 2

Peter's money = £24 less than Ollie

Difference = £24

Difference in ratio = 5 - 2 = 3

Asked :

How much did they originally share?

Answer :

First, let's find out each of their money

Ollie :

= (ollies \: ratio)/(difference \: in \: ratio) * difference \: money \\ = (5)/(3) * 24 \\ = 5 * 8 \\ = 40

Oliie's money is £40

Peter :

= (peters \: ratio)/(difference \: in \: ratio) * difference \: money \\ = (3)/(2) * 24 \\ = 3 * 12 \\ = 36

Peter's money is £36

The amount of their money :

= Ollie + Peter

= £40 + £36

= £76

So, they originally share is £76

Hope it helpful and useful :)
