A given rectangle is twice as wide as it is tall. It has a perimeter of 138 inches. How many inches tall is it? How many inches wide is it? Show your mathematics and explain your process for finding your answer.

Length is 23in and width is 46in

length = x
width = 2x
perimeter = 138in

in order to find perimeter you add length and width twice, so;

2(2x + x) = 138
2(3x) = 138
6x = 138
x = 23

since x = 23;

the length is 23in and the width is 46in
