You need to change the size of a photo. You want to keep the same aspect ratio so it doesn’t look distorted. The original picture has a width 4 inches and a length of 6 inches. You want the new picture to have a width of 13 inches. What will the length of the new picture be?

19.5inches

This is because
4 13
— = —
6 x

Cross multiply and you get 4x = 78
Since you want x, you isolate it and to do that, you have to divide both sides by 4

4x = 78
— —
4 4

So x = 78/4
The length is 19.5
