A box contains 36 red, 22 yellow, and 19 purple candies. If you pick one piece of candy from the bag at random, find the probability of a piece of candy that is not yellow.

first you add all the candies together, (36+22+19) you should then get 77 candies. then add the red and the purple candies together and you get 55 candies. so the probability you get a candy that is not yellow is 55/77 or 71% or .714
