When 10 is subtracted from the square of a number, the result is 3 times the number. Find the negative solution.

X^2 - 10 = 3x
X^2 - 3x - 10 = 0
(x - 5) (x + 2) = 0
x = 5 and x = -2
Answer: x = -2
