Explanation:

-3x - 4y = - 2 ----------------(i)

y = 2x - 5 -------------(ii)

substitute the value of y in equation(i)

-3x - 4*(2x - 5) = -2

-3x -4*2x -(-4)*5 = -2

-3x - 8x + 20 = -2

-11x + 20 = -2

-11x = -2 -20

-11x = -22

x = -22/-11

x= 2

Plug in the value of x in equation (ii)

y = 2*2 - 5

y = 4 - 5

y= -1
