Suppose 11 quarts of pure antifreeze is mixed with 5 quarts of a solution that is 16% antifreeze.

How many quarts of antifreeze are in the resulting mixture?
Also what percentage of the resulting mixture is antifreeze?

Answer:

11.8 quarts of antifreeze

73.75% antifreeze

Explanation:

16% of 5 is 0.8, so you'd take the 11 and add it to the 0.8 (11.8)
