1. The diameter of the circle is clearly 3 in. Since we know this, in order to find the radius to plug into the equation A = πr² we have to divide 3 by 2 to get 1.5.

2. Now that we know this, we plug our vale for r, 1.5, into the equation;

A = π(1.5)² and get the answer 7.06858 in. or 7.07 in. after you round.
