Explanation:

start by calculating the areas separately :

first

for the triangle= (3x4)/2 = 6 cm²

for the rectangle we will first calculate it's length (L)

L= 8-4=4 cm

the area will be = 4x3 = 12 cm²

for the smaller rectangle we will have as below:

1.5x4=6 cm²

the surface area of the figure is the sum of the areas calculated above:

Area of the figure= 6+12+6= 24 cm²

Just find the are of each shape and add the answers together to get the total area of the figure
