Answer:

11 x - 10 y = 25

Explanation:

Given:

Big Gym Fitness charges $22 per month for a membership. All-Day Fitness charges $20 per month plus $50 membership fee.

To find:

equation that can be used to determine how many months will the total amount paid to the two fitness clubs be the same

Solution:

Let x denotes number of months a person has been enrolled in Big Gym Fitness and y denotes number of months a person has been enrolled in All-Day Fitness

Amount charged in Big Gym Fitness = 22 x

Amount charged in All-Day Fitness = 20 y + 50

So,

22 x = 20 y + 50

Divide the equation by 2

11 x = 10 y + 25

11 x - 10 y = 25
