Answer: b= 6-a/2

Explanation:

Always try to isolate what you are looking for.

a+ 2b=12 (subtract a)

2b= 12-a (divide by 2 to isolate b)

b= 12-a/2 (divide both numbers by 2 to get the smallest fraction)

b= 6-a/2 [b is now isolated :) ]

Answer:

Add '-2b' to each side of the equation.

a + 2b + -2b = 12 + -2b

Combine like terms: 2b + -2b = 0

a + 0 = 12 + -2b

a = 12 + -2b

Simplifying

a = 12 + -2b
