Answer:

They are not equivalent.

Explanation:

We can plug in numbers to determine whether they are or are not.

Formula Given:

a*b^2 = a^2*b^2

Let's say a = 2 and b = 3

2*3^2 does not = 2^2 * 3^2

^ ^

= 18 = 36

EXAMPLE #2

a = 4, and b = 4

4 * 4^2 = 64

4^2 * 4^2 = 256

They would be equivalent if a = 1 and b =2, but for any other number, the formula would not work. They are all unequivalent.
