To simpfly, it would help by simply ignoring the variable (x) and just looking at the number before it, solving it like a regular math problem, from left to right.

9(x) - 2(x) = 7(x)

(-4)-(-7) = 3 --> since there's a minus sign in the middle subtracting the two numbers and one on the -7, the -7 becomes a positive 7. A negative times a negative is always positive so, it would technically be -4+7=3.

Put both of these two numbers together and you get your answer,

7x+3.
