Answer:

12x - y

Explanation:

The numbers in the brackets are being multiplied by -1. For this you can just use the opposite signs for the things in brackets and remove the brackets. (AKA 14x - 2x - y)

Then you can ignore the y for now, and just deal with the x's first.

14x - 2x = 12x

Since there's only 1 y, you don't need to do anything with it other than put it back in the equation.

The finished equation is 12x - y
