To kill a mockingbird is still a relevant novel in the 21st century. Although the issues with racism are not as severe now as they used to be, it is still a problem throughout the world. Atticus is an example of someone who is not directly affected by racism, but does his best to fight against it regardless of the backlash he received. There are people in the world that fight the same way Atticus did in the novel, to lessen the affects of racism in their countries.
