Answer:

Sample Response: Power plants generate electricity by turning a turbine. The turbine spins a generator, which produces electricity. Fossil fuels are burned to heat water, producing steam that turns the turbine. Nuclear power plants use fission to produce the thermal energy needed to produce steam. Wind and falling water are also used to turn turbines, which spin generators that produce electricity.

Answer:

Let's us talk about the Hydro Power Plant that generates electricity by energy possessed in a mass of flowing water by virtue of it height.

Explanation:

The hydo power plant utilizes

an hydraulic turbine which converts the energy of flowing water into mechanical energy of it rotating shaft . A hydroelectric generator (alternator) converts this mechanical energy into electricity. The operation of this alternator is based on the principles of Electro magnetic induction, that when a coil of conductor is moved past a magnetic field, it causes electricity generation. So when high energy water impinges on the blade of a turbine the energy is transformed to rotational motion of the shaft which is connected to the the alternator

When the alternator turns, coils attached to it move past the magnetic field hence this causes electricity to flow and a voltage to develop at the generator output terminals."
