The number of cookies baked by Grandma= 96

If she divides them evenly amount 8 children, then by division operation the number of cookies received by each child = (number of cookies) ÷ (number of children)

= (96) ÷ (8) = 12

Since, Cindy, received c fewer cookies than she would have received had all of the cookies been evenly divided among the 8 grandchildren.

Hence, the number of cookies received by Cindy = 12-c
