The reason people believe there is a link between autism and measles is because of the vaccination that is administered against measles.

The vaccine is called MMR vaccine, meaning, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccine. This is administered to infants at age 9-15months.

Its side effects include:

- fever

- rash

- dizziness

- nausea

- headache

- vomiting

- joint or muscle pains, etc.

Studies have shown however, that there is no relationship between the MMR vaccine and autism, and that the vaccine does not increase the risk for autism, and neither does it trigger autism in susceptible children.
