1) all angles in an equilateral triangle are 60°

The dotted line is an angle bisector which also divides the triangle into two congruent right angle triangles

Find the base using trig ratio

cos(30) = 8/base

base = 16sqrt(3)/3

Area = ½ × 16sqrt(3)/3 × 8

= 36.95041723 in²

2. d1: 5 + 5 = 10

d2: 3 + 8 = 11

Area = ½ × 10 × 11

= 55 m²
