The formula is A^2 + B^2 = C^2

The first two numbers of your options would be the A^2 and B^2. Once you have that value, you can take the square root of C and that gives you what C^2 would be.

12^2 + 35^2 = 1,369. The square root of 1,369 is 37. So A) is not correct.
