My cousin Bob works as a mechanic at Oil Changers and he says that renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, aren't going to provide any help in fixing our nation's energy crisis.

B) Ad Hominem: In Latin, this means to the man. When you attach a person’s character instead of the quality of his/her ideas. Tu quoque is a specific type of ad hominem when you basically call someone a hypocrite instead of debating his/her ideas.

C) Slippery Slope: Exaggeration ir the likely consequences of an action, designed to show that a misstep today could result in a disaster.

D) Appeal to False Authority: Presenting an unqualified person or institution as a source of credible information.

D. By saying he is a mechanic, you get a view of authority from him, but he is not qualified in the correct field
