Answer: The first state to vote to leave the United States of America and formed the Confederate state of America was South Carolina

Step-by-step explanation:

The first state to secede from the Union was South Carolina, this was not the first time that the state will wants to sucede from the United States of America, in the debate over tariffs in the 1830s, South Carolina seriously wanted to consider secession. But John C. Calhoun who was was a U.S. Senator from South Carolina from 1845 to 1850 and

seventh vice president of the United States from 1825 to 1832 helped to solve the problem and South Carolina remained in the Union but on December 20th, 1860, south Carolina held a succession convention in which 169 people voted in favor of succession and nobody voted against it.

After South Carolina made the step, other southern states follows, they formed another Nation called the Confederate states of America in which Jefferson Davis of Mississippi was chosen as the Provisional President. Alexander Stephens of Georgia was chosen as the Confederate Vice President.
