A=\pi r^2+\pi rl

Putting the values of r and l in above formula such that,


A=\pi (r^2+rl)\\\\A=(22)/(7)* ((8)^2+8* 17.9)\\\\A=651.2\ cm^2

So, the surface area of a cone is
651.2\ cm^2. Hence, this is the required solution.
