first we will just solve the expression 2(4x +6)=78

1. use destributive property with 2(4x + 6)

2*4x=8x

2*6=12

(8x+12)=78

2. now that the expression is simplified down we will subtract 6 by 6 to isolate it

6-6+=0

78-6=72

3. now we can divide 8x by 8 also divide 78 by 8

8x/8=0

78/8= 9.75
