The are of horizontal rectangle Is
(5+3+2)•2=20m^2

The area of the vertical triangle
6•3=18M^2

Add both areas 18+20=38 is the total area of the shaded part. Hope that answers the question

area of horizontal rectangle = 2 × (2 + 3 + 5) = 2 × 10 = 20 cm²

shaded area = 20 + 18 = 38 cm²
