Explanation:

t/3 + 3/3 = 6

combine fractions w/ common denominator:

t+3/3 = 6

multiply both sides by denominator (3):

note: the two threes from 3 x t+3/3 cancel each other out

t+3=3x6

t+3=18

subtract 3 from both sides and you get 15

t=15
