At the close of chapter 19, Bedford has finally found the sphere. Giving up Mr. Cavor for dead, he seals the manhole and switches the Cavorite shutters closed. At this point in the story, the conflict has all but been resolved, except for the question of whether Bedford will make it back to earth. Write a journal entry that summarizes your predictions for the closing chapters of The First Men in the Moon. Make sure it is realistic based on the plot details. I have a feeling that either Mr. Carvor will come back last second befor Mr. Bedford takes off, or I think that Mr. Bedford will leave (without Mr. Carvor assuming he's dead) but by the looks of it he wont think he will make it all the way back to Earth, but by a miracle he makes it and tells his story from the moon, but sadly shares the death of Mr. Carvor too.
