Dillon is going to randomly pick a domino from a pile of dominoes that are all facing downward. Of the dominos

in the pile, 48 have even number dots on them. He randomly picks a single domino. If the probability that he
picks a domino with an even number of dots is 3/4, how many dominos are in the pile?

Answer:

64

Explanation:

The probability of picking an even numbered domino is {number of even numbered dominoes}/{total number of dominoes}. This means that 3/4 = 48/{total number of dominoes}. You divide both sides by 48 and get : 1/64 = 1/{total number of dominoes}. You find the reciprocal of both sides, and get: 64 = {total number of dominoes}
