to a house that is 51 miles away from his workplace. What is the percent
decrease in the distance from his home to his workplace?​

Answer: 43%

Explanation:

Old house: 89 miles away.

New house: 51 miles away.

Let 100 be 100% of 89, x our new percentage of 51.


(89)/(51) =(100)/(x)


x=((51)(100))/(89)


x=57

So, if 57% is 51 miles, substract 57 from 100.

100-57=43% This is the decrease.
