x = 5

Explanation:

Use the distributive property.

-9x + -72 + 81 = 13 - 10x

Add -72 and 81.

-9x + 8 = 13 - 10x.

Cancel out the -9x

-9x + 9x + 8 = 13 - 10x + 9x.

8 = 13 - x

8 - 13 = 13 - 13 - x

-5 = -x

We can't have a negative x so negate the whole equation.

x = 5
